Acumatica & MYOB Acumatica
The Acumatica connector can be used to load accounting and operational data from Acumatica or MYOB Acumatica into xpna for reporting, planning, and analysis.
Loaded data can include company setup, general ledger accounts, financial periods, dimensions, balances, and transaction data depending on the connected instance and the permissions granted to the connected application.
Connectivity & Security
A connected application is required before Acumatica or MYOB Acumatica can be connected to xpna.
The connected application allows xpna to access the required Acumatica data without storing an Acumatica user's personal login credentials.
The following details are required when the connection is created:
- Endpoint URL
- Client ID
- Client secret
- Acumatica tenant or company details, where required by the instance
Note:
The client secret and authorization tokens are stored encrypted in xpna.
Access should be limited to the companies and data that are expected to be loaded into xpna.
Connected App Setup
An Acumatica Connected App must be created in the target Acumatica instance.
The detailed connected app setup steps are available in Acumatica Connected App Configuration.
The connected app setup should be completed by an Acumatica administrator before the connector is added in xpna.
Add an Acumatica Connection
An Acumatica or MYOB Acumatica connection can be added from the Connections page by selecting Acumatica & MYOB Acumatica from the Add Connection dialog.
After the connector has been selected, the endpoint and connected app details can be entered into the connection form.
When the Connect action is used, xpna validates the connection details and stores the connection if authorization succeeds.
Dimensional Mapping
It is recommended that Dimension Mapping is reviewed before mapping dimensions for the first time.
If the connected Acumatica instance uses segments, branches, subaccounts, or other reporting dimensions, those values can be mapped into xpna dimensions during setup.
For each dimension, an existing xpna dimension can be selected or a new dimension can be created.
If multiple connections in the same workspace use similar dimensions, the same xpna dimensions can be reused across those connections. The xpna dimension name does not need to match the name used in Acumatica.
Data Synchronization
Data can be refreshed manually from the Connections page or by using the schedule configured for the connection.
The initial load may take longer than later refreshes because the full data set is loaded and processed.
Later refreshes are used to keep the xpna data warehouse aligned with changes in Acumatica.
Managing the Connection
The connection can be disconnected from the Connections page.
On disconnection, stored connection credentials are removed. Data that has already been loaded into xpna is not automatically removed.
If removal of the loaded data is also required, xpna support can be contacted via email to support@xpna.com.
Data Flows
xpna extracts a number of data sets from Acumatica. These are listed below.
xpna does not push data back into Acumatica for any data set.
| Acumatica or MYOB Acumatica | xpna |
|---|---|
| Company and branch setup | Entity configuration |
| GL accounts | Account dimension and hierarchies |
| Subaccounts and segments | Dimensions and members |
| Financial periods | Period metadata |
| General ledger entries | General ledger amount |
| Budgets, where available | Scenarios |
| Customers and vendors | Business partner data |
