Drill Down Member

If a single xpna.MEMBER cell is selected, these context aware actions are available.

The user is shown a set of action buttons for:

  • Drill member upwards, represented by an up arrow, which will insert the children of the current member above
  • Drill member downwards, represented by a down arrow, which will insert the children of the current member below
  • Drill member left, represented by a left arrow, which will insert the children of the current member to the left
  • Drill member right, represented by a right arrow, which will insert the children of the current member to the right

Any member can be drilled in any direction as long as it has children, and once a member cell has been drilled in a certain direction, that direction becomes the default for that cell.

Once a member has been drilled, these context aware actions will be replaced with the Collapse action button, as xpna has detected that the member in the selected cell has been drilled on.

The Collapse action button understands the direction in which the member in the selected cell was drilled and will reverse that by collapsing the child member cells back up. It also recognizes when multiple levels of drilling have been done on a given member cell and will collapse all relevant descendant member cells of the member in the selected cell.
