Dashboards

Notes:

Web is currently in feature preview and as such documentation for this feature is still work in progress

Dashboards in xpna Web provide a powerful way to visualize and monitor key financial metrics through customizable widgets. The dashboard system is designed to give users an at-a-glance view of their most important data while offering flexible filtering and drill-down capabilities.

Overview

Dashboards are composed of widgets arranged in a grid layout. Each widget can display different types of information such as key performance indicators, charts, grids, or commentary. Dashboards support both static and dynamic filters, allowing users to slice and dice data according to their needs.

Key Features

  • Customizable Layout: Arrange widgets in a flexible grid system to create the perfect layout for viewing data
  • Multiple Widget Types: Choose from various widget types including cards, grids, charts, and text widgets
  • Filtering Options: Apply static filters (Current Period, Comparative Scenario, Currency) and dynamic filters to focus on specific data
  • Drill-down Capabilities: Interact with widgets to drill into transactional details

Dashboard Lifecycle

The typical workflow for working with dashboards involves:

  • Browsing: View the list of available dashboards and search for specific ones
  • Viewing: Open and interact with dashboards to explore data
  • Editing: Create new dashboards or modify existing ones (workspace admin only)

Access and Permissions

  • All users can view dashboards that have been created in their workspace
  • Workspace administrators have additional permissions to create, edit, and delete dashboards
  • Filter selections are stored per user session, maintaining context as users navigate between dashboards
