Salesforce
Notes:
The Salesforce connector is currently in feature preview and as such documentation for this feature is still work in progress
Overview
The Salesforce connector can be used to load CRM data from Salesforce into xpna datasets.
Commonly loaded data includes:
- Accounts
- Contacts
- Opportunities
- Leads
- Object fields used for reporting
Connection Requirements
Salesforce authorisation is required before the connection can be created.
The Salesforce user authorising the connection should have access to the objects and fields that are expected to be loaded into xpna.
Note:
Salesforce authorisation tokens are stored securely in xpna.
Access should be limited to the minimum objects and fields required for reporting.
Source Items
Salesforce objects are selected as source items in the configuration.
After Salesforce has been authorised, the connector can retrieve the available object options. Each selected object can be mapped to a target such as a List dataset. Object fields returned in sample data can be typed, renamed, imported, or excluded before the configuration is saved.
Refreshing Data
Data can be refreshed manually from the Connections page or by using the configured schedule.
If Salesforce permissions, object selections, or field availability change, the connection should be tested again and sample data should be refreshed before the configuration is saved.
