Onboarding Codes

New users to xpna may receive an email containing a 6-digit code as a part of onboarding. There are two types of codes:

Setup codes are used when onboarding a new xpna subscription. To start a new subscription head over to our pricing page and choose a plan.

Invitation codes, are used when an existing xpna user invites someone to join a workspace and they are not already a part of that subscription.

Welcome

The Welcome screen is displayed when a user first interacts with xpna and the signed-in Microsoft Office account is not recognized within xpna. This screen includes a code entry field where users can enter the code received via email. xpna will automatically detect whether the code is a setup or invitation code and either initiate the new subscription onboarding process or grant access to the workspace, routing the user into the main xpna interface.

Invitation code redemption

If the user has an invitation code and the user they are using Microsoft Office with is not known to xpna, then they will see the "Welcome" screen and can enter their invitation code there to redeem it.

If the user already uses xpna in another subscription, then they will need to use the Change Workspace switcher at the bottom of the task pane and click on the Redeem invitation code link and enter their code for redemption.

Note:

If the email used for the invitation does not match the currently signed-in Microsoft Office user, the user will be prompted to confirm whether to redeem the invitation for the current user or switch to the correct account (see Switching Users below).

Switching Users

To switch users in Microsoft Office:

  • Use the account management badge in the top-right corner of Microsoft Excel
  • sign in or switch to the appropriate account.
  • restart Microsoft Excel

Note:

Switching Microsoft Acounts requires a restart of Microsoft Excel to ensure the newly selected user is properly associated with the active session. If this is not done, Microsoft Excel still gives xpna the user that was previously logged in.
